AHF line sold to Hicks Muse

DALLAS - Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, a private investment firm, said a company it formed with C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., its food industry management affiliate, will acquire the food business of American Home Products Corp. for an estimates $1.3 billion. Branded products in the American Home Foods lineup include Chef Boyardee prepared products and mixes, PAM cooking spray and Jiffy Pop popcorn.
