Agency to Be Rebranded as World Creative Group

NEW YORK ( -- Amster Yard, the creative boutique launched 10 years ago as part of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, will be renamed and moved into McCann's New York office, where it will operate as a stand-alone unit.

The move, announced today by McCann, part of the Interpublic Group of Cos., is effective June 30. Amster Yard's name will be changed to World Creative Group.

Execs stay onboard
Jeff Weiss, Amster Yard's founder and executive vice president and executive creative director, and Simon Pearce, the agency's senior vice president and group managing director, will continue to run the unit. Other staff will be composed of creative and strategic teams only.

Whether all of Amster Yard's 45-person staff will relocate from the agency's current offices in lower Manhattan to McCann's Midtown location has not yet been determined, a spokeswoman said.

Amster Yard clients Bacardi-Martini, Coca-Cola Co. and the Outdoor Life Network will move with the company.
