Axel Springer launches youth title in Germany

MUNICH--AS Young Media, a subsidiary of Axel Springer Verlag, has launched the youth title YAM with an initial print run of 1 million copies and an introductory cover price of 50 cents. YAM's regular price will be $1.25 and the target circulation is 200,000. YAM is aimed at youth aged 12-19, but the core target group is youth aged 13-16. The introduction will be backed with a TV, print and poster campaign created by Robert & Horst of Munich. TV ads will air on Viva and MTV.
