"Everything else is just thick round bread with a hole," Chesapeake Bagel Bakery's first print campaign proclaims. The ad broke in the August issue of Washingtonian, with more print and radio to follow. The McLean, Va., chain spends about $1.5 million on advertising annually; Adworks, Washington, is the agency. Chesapeake Bagel has 77 stores and expects to expand to 150 by yearend.
