See New Logo That Was a Year in the Making

NEW YORK ( -- Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide unveiled a new corporate identity today, replacing a logo that was virtually unchanged for the past 100 years.

The new logo employs a vertical format and dual color scheme, with BBDO written in block letters in red and the office location in black. The old logo was horizontal and blue. The logos will be implemented by BBDO agencies across the network this month and continue into next year.

Staid and stale?
"We felt the current BBDO logo was a bit staid and stale," Allen Rosenshine, chairman-CEO of BBDO Worldwide, said in a statement. "The new design was created to reflect our position as a growing, leading creative communications company and to set us apart from our competition."

The new corporate identity has been in development for more than a year and was created by Nolin Branding & Design, Montreal, which is part of the BBDO network. It will be fully implemented throughout the network by August 2003.
