Berlitz offers Web translation services

Building on its reputation in the traditional media world, Berlitz Translation Services is offering to help Web site owners localize their sites for different languages. The newly created Berlitz Interactive Group will also help in translating computer software.

Dearth departs Mecklermedia
Jeffrey Dearth, 45, was named senior VP overseeing sales and marketing for Internet Co., Cambridge, Mass., from magazine group president at Mecklermedia Corp., Westport, Conn. The move reunites Mr. Dearth with Internet Co. founder Rob Raisch; the two founded the Electronic Newsstand in 1993.

Baskin-Robbins seeks ice cream name nominations
It must be election season; the presidential promotions are starting. Baskin-Robbins is asking America Online subscribers to help it choose names for two new ice cream flavors, based on the favorite ice cream tastes of President Clinton and Bob Dole. Mr. Dole's flavor, mixes peanut butter with chocolate ice cream; the president likes vanilla with Baby Ruth candy bar mixed in. The stunt is hosted by ABC Online Classroom on AOL.
