Bertelsmann Online, subsidiary of publishing giant Bertelsmann AG, selected two New York agencies to handle its upcoming online book selling venture. OgilvyOne Worldwide will handle traditional advertising and i-traffic will handle online duties. The account for the venture tentatively named BooksOnline is estimated at $30 million.

United in-flight music selections for sale

Disc Marketing (, through an alliance with N2K's Music Boulevard, is selling audio selections that play on United Airlines flights. Disc Marketing, which also creates promotional CDs for marketers, recently began handling the in-flight audio programming for United. United will promote the service in the SkyMall catalog in October and through in-flight videos in November.

BPA rolls out integrated audit

BPA International, New York, has developed an integrated media audit that delivers audited audience data on integrated media buys including newspapers, magazines, Web sites, e-mail newsletters and other formats. BPA is now completing its first integrated audit for Miller-Freeman. The service is being announced through a print trade campaign and direct marketing.
