BMG takes event to the Web

Web viewers can catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of an exclusive music event in April on BMG's alternative music site, BMG will Webcast its "Bar-B-Coustic" concert with selected tracks from alternative artists, such as Beth Orton.

The concert, which took place at the SXSW music conference in Austin, Texas, is thrown in support of independent music store owners and emerging BMG artists.

Bringing the event online "is all about promoting artists and driving traffic to Bugjuice," said Evan Harrison, product manager for BMG Online.

Artists' albums will be for sale at BMG's site and at local participating record stores found through the site's store locator. BMG is also planning offline marketing events for the monthlong promotion.
