BrannForbes wins eateries of Allied Domecq

Allied Domecq QSR, owner of Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts and Togo's restaurants, tapped BrannForbes, Dallas, to handle all its print management and marketing assessment work. The Snyder Communications-owned marketing services agency, which has worked with parts of the quick-service restaurant arm of Allied Domecq since 1997, will handle trade-area advertising planning, production and assessment of marketing for the 5,500-plus stores in Allied Domecq QSR's 329 markets.

American Management Association has begun an integrated marketing campaign to promote its management education seminars and new certificate of achievement program. Communications Plus, New York, which won the association's multimillion-dollar account in October, launched newspaper ads in December and will include direct mail, telemarketing and ads in financial magazines as part of the campaign. Direct-mail pieces targeting people who have taken an American Management Association course in the past 18 months are being mailed this month.

PlasmaNet, a New York-based database marketing company and operator of, has presented the second $1 million check to a winner of its online jackpot. The site, which launched in June, allows players to place free bets for the lottery in return for filling out a registration form and clicking on one of three banner ads. The site had more than 4 million unique visitors a week in December, according to PC Data Online. PlasmaNet says hundreds of companies -- including, AT&T Corp., Discover Financial Services` Discover Card, Geico Direct, Staples and United Distillers & Vintners' Smirnoff vodka -- have advertised on the site, targeting their ads to players whose profiles are matched to offline databases to determine interest in a variety of products and services. Companies pay FreeLotto only when a player clicks on one of their ads.
