Keith Sherman, 38, to senior VP-account director on Sprint PCS, Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, from account director, Richards Group, Dallas, where he managed PrimeCo PCS. Mr. Sherman succeeds Andrea Alfano, 42, who earlier this year moved to VP-marketing, SelfCare, Emeryville, Calif., Atlanta, hired several publishing executives for its national sales team: Ron Mulliken to exec VP-sales from southeastern regional manager, People; Tracy Nichols to VP-regional manager, handling the eastern U.S., from ad manager, Vogue; Mark Nichols to VP-regional manager, Midwest, from Time Inc. corporate sales; and Jon Book to VP-regional manager, West, from advertising sales manager, Sunset.

Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, recalled 5.8 million twist-top bottles of Bud products in Europe. The world's largest brewer said glass from bottles made in Spain and Portugal could break off into the beer when the containers are opened. A-B said consumer complaints sparked it to recall bottles in a dozen countries. Only 6% of A-B's worldwide volume comes from the affected countries, however.
