Jim Beam Brands Co., Deerfield, Ill., will spend $15 million-plus on its first global campaign for Jim Beam bourbon. The ads, themed "Real friends, Real bourbon," start appearing this week in U.S. magazines. It's the first Jim Beam work from Y&R Advertising, Chicago.

Time Inc.'s Parenting and CNN Newssource Sales teamed to launch in 80 markets this week a series of parenting news segments produced for local TV stations. Each local station will receive two taped segments and the option of a third, live segment to which stations can add their own local spin.

Jim Bell to exec VP-managing director for Northwest operations, Western Initiative Media Worldwide, New York, from worldwide managing director, MediaCom. He succeeds Michael Kubin, who moved to another part of the company called Western Trading.
