Kmart Corp. has joined with videogame marketer Activision for a nationwide in-store promotion for the videogame title Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, with a sweepstakes prize of a trip for four to see Mayan ruins in Cancun, Mexico. Consumers can enter through Jan. 28 by mailing in entry forms including the answer to a trivia question found in Kmart's videogame departments. The promotion was coordinated in-house.

Nintendo of America, Redmond, Wash., awarded its account for tie-in promotions to Flair Communications, Chicago, after a review that originally included 10 agencies. Leo Burnett USA is Nintendo's ad agency of record.

Donnelley Marketing, Stamford, Conn., acquired American Values, Atlanta, a 2-year-old co-op direct-to-home marketing program providing bound, digest-size booklets of local retailers' coupons in major markets. Donnelley will market the product as Carol Wright's American Values.

Thomas J. Lipton Co., Englewood Cliffs, N.J., recently awarded promotional agency of record responsibilities to Marketing Corp. of America, Westport, Conn. MCA will handle Lipton's full line of tea products, including in-store efforts.
