Camp Interactive speakers present ideas for future of online marketing

Thomas Jermoluk, president-CEO of @Home Networks, kicked off Camp Interactive in Beaver Creek, Colo., Aug. 2 with a keynote address advising advertisers and content providers to start planning for broad band interactivity to the home.

"It will mean a change in the ability to reach consumers in a more interactive fashion, but it does not mean a change in the technology already being used," Mr. Jermoluk said.

He said @Home already has 500,000 users with a growth rate of 100% every quarter. The churn rate of @Home subscribers is low 6%, he said.At another Aug. 2 session about electronic commerce, Lycos Senior VP-Marketing Jan Robert Horsfall touted affiliate programs and offered case examples of Lycos' and Tripod's deals with Barnes & Noble and CDNow.

"A year from now I think the talk about affiliate programs on the Web will be enormous," he said.
