Campbell, Kraft co-market salsa dip

Campbell Soup Co. and Kraft Foods will co-market Pace Velveeta Picante Con Queso, a new ready-to-eat cheese and salsa dip, in a joint venture that will make its way to stores in the fall. Kraft will manufacture while Pace Foods, a division of Campbell, will handle sales and distribution. The companies said ad plans are in development.

At a briefing for corporate members of the American Advertising Federation in Washington, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Robert Pitofsky invited the ad industry to testify at "ambitious" hearings this fall on global competition, specifically on how advertising faces different regulations around the world. He also asked the industry to help the FTC in its educational efforts to combat fraudulent practices, such as financial scams, and to help in addressing advertising problems in new media.
