Canadian coupon, sample distributor migrates to the web

MONTREAL--A pre-shopping Web site will be launched thisautumn in Canada offering promotions ranging from personalizeddiscount coupons to new products from both local and nationaladvertisers and retailers. ( in French) will be produced by G.T.C.Transcontinental Group in collaboration with Bell Actimedia,both in Montreal.

The electronic Ad-Bag follows the original Ad-Bag/Publi-Saclaunched 20 years ago. Ad-Bags are delivered each weekend to5.5 million households in Ontario and Quebec. They are printedwith advertising, often with coupons, and each holds circulars,flyers, brochures, restaurant menus, coupons and occasionalsamples.

The Web site will be promoted to both trade and consumersthrough an ad agency, to be chosen at a later date. The current Ad-Bag does not use an agency.

Transcontinental is among the top 10 commercial printers inNorth America, and is also involved in publishing, compactdisc production, direct marketing, electronic information andcommerce.
