Canadian group buys web agency in France

MONTREAL--Informission Group, the information technology subidiary company of Quebecor of Montreal, is acquiring Cythere Interctive, an independent, interactive agency in France in the field ofintegrated interactive Web solutions.

Based in Paris with an office in New York, Cythere has a wide range of clients, including Group Danone (for the brands Evian and Danone), L'Oreal (L'Oreal Paris and Biotherm), Club Med and Michelin. The agency was founded in 1995 and currently has a staff of 100.

Cythere offers strategic Web consulting, e-commerce, design and creation of Web sites and portals, interactive marketing, and online advertising and promotion. With Informission's Paris-based subsidiary, Infosphere, which specializes in databases, Cythere will increase its service offerings.

Cythere President Jacques-Herve Roubert becomes European president and joins the Informission board.

"This transaction is part of our strategy to position ourselves as a major player in the Web, e-commerce and systems-integration field in Europe," says Jacques Topping, Informission Group's president. Informission provides e-commerce and Web integration services. It has 800 employees in offices in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Ottawa, Seattle, New York and Paris.
