Cashing in in Atlanta

Two non-Olympic sponsors plan to make some hay when the crowds descend on Atlanta for the Summer Games. American Express Corp. is tying in with the Georgia Hospitality & Travel Association and the Atlanta Restaurant Marketing Association in a promotion in June to reward Atlanta diners enrolled in American Express' Membership Rewards program with double points for each dollar charged. The print ad introducing the program, from Ogilvy & Mather, Atlanta, carries the theme, "With American Express getting double points makes the food taste twice as good." And Miller Brewing Co. is presenting an 18-day series of major pop-music concerts during the Games at Underground Atlanta, a retail/entertainment complex.
