CDnow links up with Pizza Hut for promo

Music e-tailer CDnow is teaming up with Pizza Hut to promote the pizza chain's Big New Yorker Pizza. CDnow will give away custom music CDs at People who buy a Big New Yorker Pizza receive an access code that allows them to create a customized CD on CDnow, selecting from among 200 different songs. Backing the promotion is a multimillion-dollar print and TV campaign from BBDO Worldwide, New York, which breaks on broadcast TV Jan. 26. A commercial also is set to air in the Super Bowl pregame show. CDnow plans to give away 5.5 million CDs, which it valued at about $10 each.
