Children's Ad Review unit issues new guidelines

The Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better BusinessBureaus next week plans to introduce its revised Self-Regulatory Guidelinesfor Children's Advertising, which cover voluntary standards for onlinemarketing to children. CARU seeks to determine what is consideredappropriate in online marketing to children, including issues of privacy andthe blurring of advertising content with entertainment content. ElizabethLascoutx, director of CARU, and Walter O'Brien, president of the NationalAdvertising Review Council, will present the report next Tuesday at thePrinceton Club in New York.
