CMP pub gets name change

CMP Media will change the name of its weekly newspaper, CommunicationsWeek, to InternetWeek with the Sept. 1 issue to better reflect the expanded coverage of the Internet, corporate networks, extranets and intranets. Two weeks ago, the company announced internally that it would cease publishing NetGuide magazine in August. The 190,000 controlled-circulation title will continue to reach network and information services professionals, although the audience will be requalified to include those who purchase Internet-related products and services. Eighty percent of the current circulation is connected to the Internet.
