CNET acquires SavvySearch

CNET has acquired SavvySearch, a leading provider of metasearch technology, in a combination of cash and stock totaling $22 million. CNET will immediately begin incorporating SavvySearch, a proprietary metasearch engine that provides advanced Internet search capabilities, into the CNET network, giving CNET users additional speed and access to product information and tech-focused resources from around the Web. The SavvySearch technology will also allow users to customize searches, and gain access to a greater scope of comparison shopping options, like live auction listings.
