Cobalt gains more car dealer Web sites

Cobalt Group, Seattle, which claims to be the country's largest provider of Internet marketing systems for auto dealers, acquired Reynolds and Reynolds Co.'s DealerNet Service, also Seattle, described as the industry's first on-line advertising and information service connecting automotive retailers directly with consumers through a ``Virtual Showroom.'' Privately held Cobalt declined to reveal terms of the acquisition. As a result of the acquisition, Cobalt will manage more than 3,500 car dealer Web sites. Cobalt is also an authorized dealer service provider for Microsoft's CarPoint Interactive Classifieds service. Reynolds & Reynolds, Dayton, Ohio, provides management systems and other services to the auto, healthcare and other industries.
