CompuServe and Time Inc. New Media will announce plans tomorrow about furthering the relationship between the companies. Online service CompuServe would not confirm a rumor that the announcement deals with further branding Time's Web property Pathfinder, a year-old hybrid brand including content from all divisions of Time Warner and its magazine division, on CompuServe. CompuServe has offered premium positioning to Time Inc. title Money and flagship title Time and marketed a browser product co-branded with Pathfinder earlier last year.

The Pathfinder site has been the subject of much criticism of late. HotWired, in a recent article, called the site unwieldy and disorganized. Indeed, Pathfinder is at work on its latest redesign in what has become an ongoing attempt to make sense of all its disparate content areas.

In addition to all of the Time Inc. magazines and Warner properties, Pathfinder includes an assortment of material from outside the Time Warner stable: news from CMP Publications, interactive-related newsletters, etc.

Staff turmoil has persisted as well. In February, Pathfinder Editor Jim Kinsella left in what was called a ``personnel issue.'' Also departing: Maria Wilhelm, another Pathfinder editorial executive.
