Ad pages for tech products in U.S. computer and business publications grew 6.6% in the first half compared to last year, Adscope reported. The Eugene, Ore., tracking service said estimated print spending in the category increased 14.8% to $1.3 billion. But Adscope said growth slowed a bit in the second quarter from the robust first quarter. Among the top 10 publications, all but International Data Group's Computerworld
and PC World
posted page gains. The biggest gainers: CMP Media titles InformationWeek
, up 27.8% in pages, and Computer Reseller News
, up 17.4%; McGraw-Hill's Business Week
, up 18.1%; and Ziff-Davis' PC Week
, which advanced 17.2%.
