Royal Caribbean Cruises, Miami, narrowed the finalist list in its direct review to OgilvyOne and FCB Direct, both New York; Rapp Collins Worldwide, Dallas; and McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C. (pitching with Knowledgebase marketing, Chapel Hill). A decision is expected late this month.

ValueVision International, Minneapolis, a direct marketing company with a home shopping network and a direct mail operation, settled a lawsuit brought against it by Time Warner Entertainment Co. in 1997. The settlement results in a fourth-quarter after-tax charge of about $4.3 million by ValueVision and a 10% profit participation right in a programming concept Time Warner is considering for development.

Burrell Yagnik Relationship Marketing is the new name for the direct response unit of Burrell Communications Group, Chicago, as Keith Yagnik becomes president-CEO (AA, Dec. 21). The New York-based direct unit of Burrell, an agency that specializes in reaching African-Americans, was formerly called Burrell/DFA.
