Daewoo appoints agency for Canadian launch

TORONTO--Daewoo Auto Canada has appointed Toronto-based Goodgoll Curtis Inc. to handle the launch advertising for Daewoo cars in Canada. The agency will work with Groupaction, which will manage the French Quebec part of the assignment.

It's Goodgoll Curtis' first win since Ted Nation joined as senior VP from J. Walter Thompson Co. just under four months ago.

Daewoo will introduce in March to Ontario and Quebec three models which launched in Europe 18 months ago and in the U.S. last September: the sub-compact Lanos, the compact Nubira and the intermediate Leganza.

Daewoo Auto Canada is part of the Daewoo Group, which claims to be the world's 18th largest corporation.

Googdill Curtis is the AOR for Esso, Mr. Lube and London Life and has been operating in Canada for the past eight years.
