DaimlerChrysler names global marketing execs

DaimlerChrysler, Stuttgart, Germany, and Auburn Hills, Mich., announced a new structure for worldwide sales and marketing. James Holden, formerly exec VP-sales and marketing at Chrysler Corp., will hold dual responsibility for worldwide and North American brand management of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Plymouth brands. Former Daimler-Benz executive Dieter Zetsche will oversee worldwide brand management for Mercedes-Benz and for Smart cars in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia/Pacific. Former Chrysler de Mexico President Ted Cunningham will be responsible for DaimlerChrysler regional sales and marketing in Latin America. In the U.S., Mike Jackson, CEO of Mercedes-Benz of North America, will report to Mr. Holden on regional matters. Unidentified brand managers will be responsible for individual brands by country or region, the company said.
