Dannon settles with FTC

The Dannon Co. agreed to pay $150,000 to settle a dispute with the Federal Trade Commission over TV ads for Dannon's Pure Indulgence frozen yogurt. The FTC charged that ads from Grey Advertising in 1993 touting lower fat than ice cream for certain flavors were not substantiated. Dannon had argued that the ads did not contain any specific fat or calorie claims.
