Discovery kids Latin America/Iberia launches pan-regional children's promotion

MIAMI--Discovery Kids, the children's channel, part of Discovery Networks, Latin America/Iberia, has launched an eightweek pan-regional consumer promotion that challenges kids throughout Latin America to be part of a real adventure team.

Aimed at 7-to-12 year old kids, the promotion asks viewers to answer the question, "If you could be the team captain for a team of explorers, where would you go and why?" in a maximum of 100 words. Prize winners will be flown to Bermuda for five days and four nights to be part of an "Outward Bound Team," a world famous organization that takes people aged 14 years and up to discover skills and strengths by facing challenging situations in the great outdoors.

"Our goal in executing this promotion is to get our young viewers to experience first-hand what our shows and our brand are all about," said Luis Silberwasser, VP-marketing, Discovery Networks, Latin American/Iberia. "The concept is also a great lead-in to the fourth-quarter launch of the new adventure block on Discovery Kids."

Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia is based in Miami and reaches viewers with 11 customized feeds operated from the company's Discovery TV center.
