D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, New York, has made a wave of organizational changes -- including the hiring of former J. Walter Thompson New York CEO Susan Gianinno -- in the formation of a new Global Strategic Group.

Ms. Gianinno joins DMB&B as exec VP-global marketing director and chief branding officer responsible for global business development and the head of brand planning efforts. Sam Hill, current DMB&B vice chairman, director of strategic planning and business development, will be appointed chief strategic officer and co-head the global strategic group with Ms. Gianinno. Both will report to DMB&B Chairman-CEO Arthur Selkowitz.

In other moves related to the formation of the new group, Daniel Dahan, previously CEO of DMB&B, Paris, will take on the new position of exec VP-director of leadership strategy, reporting to Mr. Hill. A replacement for Mr. Dahan has not been named yet. Tim Arnold, North American business development director will assume the additional role of worldwide business development coordinator, reporting to Ms. Gianinno.

"What you're seeing here is the beginning of seamless management," said Mr. Selkowitz, adding that the new structure will allow for greater coordination in the account planning and brand-building functions.
