E-commerce growing rapidly according to Cyber Dialogue report

"The Consumer Online Commerce Report," released June 17 by Internet researcher Cyber Dialogue and interactive agency Organic, projected that consumer spending online is expected to hit $34 billion by 2002. The report also found that in 1997 the number of online shoppers increased to 11.2 million, and 76% of those shoppers made multiple purchases.

New shopping categories also emerged, with a significant increase in gift, apparel, automotive and food purchases.
