Ben & Jerry's Homemade and Yahoo! are teaming up for a sweepstakes starting today. Consumers who send in Ben & Jerry's lids can win from among 25,000 prizes; grand prize is a lifetime supply of Ben & Jerry's frozen desserts. For each lid, Ben & Jerry's will also donate money for Internet equipment to a school in conjunction with NetDay Oct. 25. Yahoo! is promoting the sweepstakes in banner ads on the Net.

Pilot Corp. of America launched a back-to-school promotion this month in which Phylicia Rashad hosts a series of 60-second radio spots on the importance of education. Also included is a contest in which parents in nine markets can offer a 50-word explanation of the most important lessons learned from their kids. Ten daily winners will receive $100 gift certificates; one grand prize winner in each market will get two Pilot Pen learning centers consisting of a Compaq computer system.
