KB Toys teamed with Co-Options, Darien, Conn., for KidPack, a new sampling program in Kay-Bee's 1,269 stores. A recent test of the program delivered samples to 600,000 children inside Kay-Bee stores from marketers including Procter & Gamble Co., Nestle, Quaker Oats Co., Warner-Lambert Co., Hormel Foods and Fingerhut.

Circuit City Stores joined with cable's Sundance Channel and U.S. Satellite Broadcasting for the "Sundance Channel Festival Tour Sweepstakes." Consumers who buy a Digital Satellite System at any Circuit City store will be entered in the sweepstakes, which runs through Nov. 30. Grand prize is an expenses-paid trip for two people to four of the nation's top film festivals. The promotion was handled in-house.

Sony Pictures Entertainment's Game Show Network this month launched the "Life Is a Game" in-theater sweepstakes promotion, urging consumers to request the network from local cable operators. The promotion is offered inside Sony Retail Entertainment's Loews Theaters, with entry forms in lobbies.
