Norelco Consumer Products has inked official sponsorship of the National Hockey League, including the designation of Norelco men's shavers and Maverick beard and mustache trimmers as the official men's grooming tools of the NHL. The company will also sponsor the new Norelco/NHL "Face-Off" Award, to be backed by promotions and public relations. D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, New York, is Norelco's agency of record.

Cox Direct's St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Carol Wright division next month kicks off its first-ever cooperative mail program dedicated exclusively to products and services targeted to parents of newborns. The "Just Delivered" program includes an educational newsletter along with coupons; subsequent mailings will follow over three months, using lists compiled from more than 2,000 sources including hospitals, photographers and birth classes.

Northwestern University seeks entries for its fourth annual "Out of the Box" contest for strategic and creative excellence in integrated marketing communications.
