Fast Company sprints onto newsstands

Fast Company, a new every-other-monthly business magazine for the new economy, will hit newsstands Nov. 6 with 86 ad pages in a 175-page issue. A color page is $5,200 in the magazine, backed by real estate and publishing executive Mort Zuckerman. Charter advertisers include Ford Motor Co.,General Motors Corp., Compaq Computer Corp. and Microsoft Corp.

Claiborne narrows $30M review to nine agencies
Liz Claiborne Inc. is said to have narrowed its $30 million account review to nine agencies including D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and the Gotham Group. A new agency formed by former Ally & Gargano Chairman-CEO Bill Luceno in Norwalk, Conn., may also be in the review. The incumbent is Altschiller & Co. Separately, the company is said to be considering the sale of its Liz Claiborne Cosmetics division.
