FCB wins Standard Chartered Media

HONG KONG -- Standard Chartered has appointed Foote, Cone & Belding to handle the $6.4 million media account for its credit card business in Hong Kong following a four-way pitch with incumbent Leo Burnett Worldwide, D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and Carat.

FCB Hong Kong Managing Director Carol Cheung says the agency will handle all media planning and buying in Hong Kong, as well as some additional database business and special projects for an undisclosed amount. Leo Burnett continues to handle the creative account.

In addition, FCB has recently picked up advertising business from Sopexa, the marketing board of French food and beverages, to promote Bordeaux wines in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The pitch included TBWA and Ogilvy & Mather, and the assignment will later expand to China, Thailand, and Singapore.

The agency also won additional business from SC Johnson for the Dow, Ziploc, Handiwrap and Saran Wrap brands. There was no pitch, as the advertising accounts for those brands was previously inactive. Billings for both new accounts were undisclosed.
