Ford Motor taps the Web for promos

Ford Motor Co. launches three new products Thursday on the Internet as part of integrated campaigns for the Ford Escort, Mercury's Mountaineer and Tracer. Each new vehicle has its own cyberspace contest, offering trips, free two-year vehicle leases and smaller weekly prizes like tote bags. The sites are aimed at attracting young, college-educated Net surfers. Tracer radio ads will be broadcast via C/Net's Web site and can be downloaded, which Ford calls an advertising first.

There's several ways to access: Ford's, Mercury's and various gateways such as Time Inc.'s Pathfinder and Ticket Master Online.
