Ford plans European revamp

Ford is about to split its European region into four separate entities, according to a source close to the carmaker. A spokesman declined to give details but said an announcement will be made to employees next week. Ford is at present structured along national lines, with Ford of Europe, an umbrella organization, based in the U.K.

Ogilvy & Mather is Ford's main agency in Europe. Young & Rubicam handles Ford in Germany and Ford's Galaxy minivan across Europe. The change, to be enacted early next year, is partly a response to results released last month which revealed that the carmaker had a loss of over $450 million in Europe for the third quarter.
