Ford sees good response to recall ad

Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., said consumers in focus groups in Chicago; Vienna, Va.; and Long Beach, Calif., overwhelmingly approved of its 60-second TV spot that ran last week featuring Ford CEO Jacques Nasser talking about the Firestone tire recall. Ford said 73% reported they believed Ford is doing a very good or excellent job of handling the recall and a majority believed it was important a top Ford executive deliver the message. Focus groups will be assembled in the same cities tonight to comment on Ford's new 90-second recall spot.
