Nintendo of America will introduce its Virtual Boy gaming system on Aug. 14, backed by a $25 million marketing campaign from Leo Burnett USA, Chicago. Nintendo said it expects to sell more than 1.5 million hardware units, at $179.95 each, by yearend.

Walt Disney Television International named three senior executives at the Disney Channel-U.K. in London. Tom Wszalek was named senior VP-managing director, from senior VP of the U.S. Disney Channel. John Keeling is director of programming and acquisitions, from head of Sky Television's movie channels. Tim Richards is director of operations and production, from head of broadcasting at QVC Europe. The U.K. operation, the first Disney Channel in Europe, will launch on Oct. 1.
