FTC, FCC eye phone ads

The Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission, which so far have only warned phone companies about misleading ads, have scheduled a news conference tomorrow apparently to announce their first enforcement action. The two agencies declined to provide details, but in a workshop several months ago warned they had problems with ads from some long-distance carriers, including dial-around carriers. More recently, the FTC and FCC reportedly have been looking at cellular phone ads.
