Gillette tops Edison Awards

Gillette Co., Boston, will be awarded the top prize at the American Marketing Association's 13th annual Edison Awards for the best new products. Gillette will receive the 1998 Grand Edison as new-product marketer of the year for its introduction of the Mach3 razor. Time Warner Vice Chairman Ted Turner and Campbell Soup Co. President-CEO Dale Morrison will receive Edison Lifetime Achievement Awards at the ceremony tonight in New York. Mr. Turner is honored for his innovation in cable networks and Mr. Morrison for helping solidify Campbell's hold on the package-foods market. In addition, the annual awards will honor gold, silver and bronze winners in 30 product categories.
