DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- General Motors Corp. breaks a national TV spot for the incentive program it announced Jan. 3 to replace the no-interest finance deals that expired Jan. 2.
The so-called "GM Overdrive" deal offers $2002 in cash to buyers or lessees of any new 2001 or '02 model Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC, Buick, Cadillac or Oldsmobile models.
Unlike the prior deal, Saturn is excluded and Cadillac is included.
Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., created new 30-second spot for the offer, which will break nationally during tonight's Rose Bowl broadcast on ABC.
A GM spokesman said the spot "ran in a few areas before it was supposed to" earlier this week, letting the cat out of the bag about GM's new program. The deal runs through February.
