DETROIT ( -- General Motors Corp. kicks off a national newspaper ad campaign Sept. 21 to promote its new incentive program, dubbed "Keep America Rolling."

The automaker is offering interest-free financing across its vehicle brands. Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., which handles GM's corporate account, is handing the promotion.

McCann is also creating a 30-second TV spot that GM plans to get on the air this weekend. The deal and media buy run through the end of October.

"We know this is a difficult time to talk about an incentive program, but GM has a responsibility to help stimulate the economy by encouraging Americans to purchase vehicles, to support our dealers and suppliers and to keep our plants operating and our employees working," said Ron Zarrella, president of GM's North American operations.
