Just seven months after launch, General Motors Corp.
has expanded its Web site to include 38,400 pages, double the prior number, mostly because all 8,500 of GM's dealers now have a home page. Dealers will be able to update their pages themselves via a private satellite intranet. Also new: an investor information area. Coming Sept. 23: users can apply for loans online via the GMACC area, with a 48-hour response time. GM's new Cynerworks unit, its spunoff EDS subsidiary and its ad agencies all worked on the site.
