Ring that cable car bell twice for Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.

For the sixth year in a row, the agency dominated the advertising awards at the San Francisco Show, winning 18 golds and 43 silvers.

That dominance meant Goodby also got the Bell Ringer Award for Advertising, an antique cable car bell.

Much of Goodby's haul, including Best of Show, came for its work on the California Fluid Milk Processor Advisory Board. Other award winning work was done for American Isuzu Motors, the PepsiCo-owned Chevy's restaurant chain, Haggar Apparel Co., Norwegian Cruise Lines and Porsche Cars North America.

For the first time, Goodby also dominated the design categories and so won the Bell Ringer Award for Design. It struck gold for Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. and silver for Haggar and Porsche.

Individual Goodby staffers made a strong showing. Creative Director Paul Curtin won the Marget Larsen Award for Design, and art director Sean Ehringer won the Marget Larsen Award for Art Direction.

Looking past Goodby, Odiorne Wilde Narraway Groome, an agency born just a year ago, won three golds. Odiorne spun off from Goldberg Moser O'Neill taking client Electronic Arts with it. Creative Director Jeff Odiorne won the Howard Gossage Award for copywriting.

The Don Ashley Award, honoring an individual's contributions to ensuring an environment where great advertising can be created, went to Matt Ryan, VP-account director at Hal Riney & Partners.
