NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Tommy Hilfiger Corp. is putting its agency of record, Deutsch, on hiatus from handling creative responsibilities.
|Deutsch has been Hilfiger's agency of record since 1999.|
Advertising for Hilfiger's upcoming men's and women's fall/winter sportswear collection is from Lloyd & Co., while AR Media handled creative duties for the company's fall/winter Tommy Jeans line. Lloyd & Co. and AR Media are both based in New Yor.
Agency since 1999
Deutsch was the creative agency behind Tommy Hilfiger's most recent advertising campaigns for men's and women's sportswear and Tommy Jeans. Deutsch, part of Interpublic Group of Cos., has been Tommy Hilfiger Corp.'s agency of record since 1999.
A Deutsch spokeswoman confirmed the changes.
A spokeswoman for Hilfiger said Lloyd & Co. is currently working on ads for next year's spring/summer men's and women's sportswear collection. Creative duties for the Tommy Jeans line have not yet been assigned.
The spokeswoman said Deutsch remains "our agency of record and continues to handle all trafficking and production. ... As a fashion brand, we change our creative direction from time to time. We've used AR and Doug Lloyd in the past, and we've also taken [the creative] in-house."
Hilfiger spent $36 million in measured media in 2002, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. A large portion of that is devoted to sportswear and outerwear. The company would not comment on spending.
