Hotmail available in foreign languages; total members top 40 million

Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft's MSN Hotmail has launched local language versions of its free Web-based e-mail for its international members. Localized versions of Hotmail, designed for non-English-speaking regions, are now available in French, German and Japanese. In related news, Hotmail announced that it now has more than 40 million members in the U.S. and internationally.
