(April 20, 2001) -- Hearst Corp. fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar will enter the Internet age on April 24, launching Harpersbazaar.com. The site will offer what the company is calling "fashion tools [that] are relevant to women now."

The site also worked with wireless provider AvantGo to create a channel on which users can download Palm-friendly shopping guides of New York, Paris, Milan and London at launch, with Hong Kong being added next month.

The sites new features will include news, fashion reviews, insight into trends and input from the magazine's editors covering such topics as what they would like to buy.

Visitors to the site can also register for a free e-mail account carrying the bazaar.com domain name. Harpersbazaar.com was produced by Iguana Studios and Hearst Interactive Studios. -- Catharine P. Taylor
