on Monday introduces a revamped version of its Aptiva PC line, hoping for a fresh start after the bungled Aptiva launch last fall, which contributed to IBM's disastrous fourth-place finish in 1994 U.S. PC sales. Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide is in production on a fall global Aptiva campaign fitting into the ``Solutions for a small planet'' corporate theme. At IBM Corp., Gian Carlo Bisone, 48, was named general manager of software marketing for IBM's software unit, from VP at Compaq Computer Corp.
Separately, No. 1 PC seller Compaq Computer Corp. on Sept. 13 unveils its fall PC line and ad campaign, which will include TV spots for both the Presario home PC and business models, from Ammirati & Puris/Lintas.
